European Passports

Post by WHL »

I was talking to a couple , who were sitting on the next table as us while out for Sunday lunch, both born in the UK, him Cypriot dad, English Mother, her both English parents, they are here on holiday, but while here they are in the process of obtaining Cypriot Passports, him being entitled through his Cypriot father, her by being married to him, plus passports for their children, they were telling me, they would then hold two passports, all legal... they also said many of their friends were doing the same, question is if any of you guys were entitled through family, would you think about getting another passport?

I'm not entitled through family but am through residency, and will be applying for a Cypriot passport shortly. If I was eligible for others I would apply for them too. A passport is just a travel document and proof of identity. It doesn't change who I am. There is far too much emotion attached to them, compared to to a driving licence for example.

No such thing as an English passport

Every need. Scots, Welsh and Irish are never happy being classed as English. Yes ,we are British but we are not English.
