This seems to happen every year, bu not usually as early as January. I guess it depends on the direction of the wind as it is usually a problem when the wind is blowing up in a SE direction. from the N African coast.

You're right, I'm struggling to remember a dust problem like this in January/February before in the 13 years I've been here!!
