Nevertheless it is amazing that they can get away with these 'irregularities'........
" He added that the mall never received neither a final approval certification nor a planning permit. The existing planning permit was issued for an area of 26,000 m2, however the mall currently covers an area of 34,000 m2, he said.
“Inside the mall, there are establishments which operate without a license and which do not meet the fire and safety regulations,” he added. "

Interior Ministry’s response
Talking to CNA, an Interior Ministry official responded to Phedonos, by arguing that the mall’s operations are completely legitimate.

How the Mall got a building permit even when the area around is well known as at least from Roman period (Roman Hotel opposite p.e.) nobody knows.
Here a photo before it was built and one can see clearly the remains of an old church on the right hand side.

Some archaeological remains are still there to the rear of the Mall. They have been tidied up and roofed over and can be seen by anyone taking a walk past the outside parking area.. They are to the right of the roundabout

Early Christian Churches were built on a West-East axis - this is North-South?

Actually they were moved to their present position from the middle of the site.
