Polemi webcam

Post by Mike.1940 »

What has happened to the Polemi webcam? Who is it that can arrange a quick visit and repair? It is one of the best views and has been missed over the last two days.

If it conks out just post here or send me a PM. I will restart it. I think the amount of power cuts we have had recently confuses it.

BALLS BALLS BALLS

Well, I have worked out what the problem was. Not before I took the webcam down and brought it inside to diagnose it though. It was entirely non-responsive. So I reset it to see if that works, but still no joy. I get out my spare webcam, and am configuring that, when suddenly it dawns on me. Two days ago I changed the wifi password on the router.

The webcam uses wifi.

I didn't tell the webcam the new password.

Now I have reset the webcam, so will have to reconfigure it from scratch and remember obscure ftp passwords again.

What fun.

But at least I know why the webcam conked out a couple of days ago now!

Well, the camera is working again. However, it is currently indoors. I don't want to get out the ladder in the dark, so the view isn't much at the moment. However, it will be back in its proper place tomorrow.

Dominic, do you need help to get the camera up again. I would offer to come and help but I'm afraid the flights are a little difficult to get at Gatwick at the moment...................
