After the storm - the next one is on the way... (pic story)

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Well, having no power could not stop me to wait for daylight coming after that heavy storm last night.Villages in the distance have electric though..while around me all pitch-black

Image

View towards the wind farm
Image

it looks like the humidity is moving fast away
Image

Image

back to Troodos view where the clouds get the first sunrays..
Image

Image

suddenly these parallel clouds arrived for a short moment
Image

I had to be in a hurry to get all the different moods... this was towards the sea and Airport
Image

soon the sun will appear near the wind farm
Image

here we are...
Image

sun is burning the clouds away..
Image

but this was for a short moment only as for a sudden this happened....nasty looking clouds promising rain..
Image

birds are in a hurry to return to their nest at the rock of Episkopi
Image

and seconds later the next bad weather front with thunder moved in from the sea

Great pics as ever Max, and I'm very well aware that we really, really do need the rain, but just so hate it!! And thunder and lightning - let's just not go there!!

Fabulous shots as always Max. Please don’t ever think of stopping posting these stunning early morning photos, some of us are sometimes not good at expressing our appreciation of your efforts of getting up early to get the best photo to post for us all to see and enjoy...............I love them 🙂X

Quite a high tide too.

Thank you Max for your figures. Low light shots are much harder to take properly so that information is very useful.

You're welcome Dominic. As I slowly understand how the settings work with my camera (hundreds of pics done with bad result!) it is amazing what one can achieve and there is no photoshopping either even when it looks sometimes, like on these two shots from today's morning session.

Image
(F 4.5, 1/40 sec, ISO 80, 25 mm)

what is extremely handy with this bridge camera, when you play with it, to zoom with the click of a button, unlike cameras you have no objective with variable focal length bought. With the same setting like above I managed this pic just with a different zoom... (700 mm and 1/60 sec)
It could be photoshopped.....Another important thing is the focus on manual setting that it won't change.

I live here 35 years permanent MM, and never have seen a blue and orange sky one can see on my last pic AND to be able to photograph it... :) When travelling to Indian Ocean islands like Mauritius or Seychelles I have seen similar colours, but not here. A yellow sky is not that rare but this day's vivid yellow was amazing.
