Check your Freezer

Post by WHL »

I have seen Waitrose and Tesco Frozen veg in supermarkets here in Cyprus, no harm in checking.

9th of July this year, but people may still have some items in their freezer.. The use by dates on many items extends to 2020

Yes I did, but like others, we have frozen stuff at the bottom of the freezer for many months.

I worked for Birdseye for 13 years and know their processes inside out so always buy them when I can, or local produce here if not. Wouldn't touch Tesco,Asda,Morrisons,Sainsbury's ......own.These are invariably the by products of Birdseye prime produce. Not necessarily anything wrong with them, but not 100% Prime produce.

There is actually a tenderometer which tests the peas coming into the factory at the factory gate! This determines the destination of the peas! And the peas have to be in the factory process within 2 hours of being picked, even if there is only a 10k of peas in the wagon. The same applies to the bean season which follows closely afte the peas. This was a massive poblem prior to the Humber Bridge opening, given that the majority of the growing fields were in Lincolnshire!!.
