The ring pulls are high grade aluminium and the cans are foil with alloys added so that they mould more easily without tearing or breaking - You need a lot of ring pulls for any monitory value but they are recognised as easier to re-cycle

So you chuck the cans? Ever heard of Cans for Kids (look it up)?

There used to be a big collection cage for 'cans for kids' at Paphos General Hospital.. I hope it is still there..

I know of many people who save the cans and recycle them for cash but it seems a lot of charities ask you to save the ring pulls – maybe advice from somewhere has been given ? they never seem to ask for cans

I heard they were melted down to make artificial limbs.

Hi Ruth, don't know where you live but if you are anywhere near Chlorokas, Amy at the Railway Inn will take them she collects for a charity.

Hi Pinleyb93,
Thank you very much for your information - just what I wanted - I will certainly deliver them to Amy at The Railway Inn.

I do recycle all cans [for Cans for Kids] at Peyia but remove the ring pulls as they are made of different metal [which I knew]. I can't remember if the Ring Pulls are for 'Help for Heroes' or for making Artificial Limbs. Either way, I am glad to help. x
