Best time to visit Polis hospital outpatients

Hi does anybody know?
I need to go there tomorrow morning, I was told by the nurse 7:30 but I don't want to be stuck behind a large queue like people do in Paphos General.

I took a friend last week and we arrived at 9am parked right outside, in a marked parking bay, and went straight up to the booking in desk no one in front of us. She booked in, saw doctor and collected medicines at the Pharmacy all completed within 30 minutes. Everyone was polite and helpful.

Completely different story to my couple of trips to Paphos General I have to say.

Can anyone use the Polis hospital or does one have to live in the area?

I used to know someone who is now back in the UK, who went from Trimithousa to Polis for blood tests because it was easier, obviously the journey time and fuel costs didnt matter, and they would make a bit of a day of it also.

We have used Polis Hospital and live in Polemi.

We live in Peyia. We were simply asked why we didn’t go to Paphos General and explained waiting time was too long which receptionist agreed with and thought we were sensible to go to Polis. Hope that helps.

Sensible for me as I live nearer to Polis than Paphos, however I have Just got back, around 6 people in the queue then two oldies jumped in at the front, I didnt mind.
Went for xray and blood tests and was told that both of those departments are closed until wednesday, no reason given, so need to go back again.

There MAY also be a problem if you do not have your hospital file at home with you... You would need a new one starting at Polis if you begin to go there..

I understand the problem of ques but the cost of getting over to Polis's very small Hospital is just not worth it, you could get it done at the many private blood test clinics about the town, no driving so far and the cost would probably work out the same, I live in Tremithousa and the 60 minute round trip in the car to the Polis hospital would cost about the same I would think, you would still need to see a specialist with your results, and he/she would usually be in the Paphos General certainly any treatment would usually mean to have this done at the Paphos General..

The cost of getting there is irrelevent, as they said they turn it into a day trip. We use similar logic when taking garden waste to a green point.

Irrelevant? maybe for you but the cost of that drive is just not worth it, I can get to a blood test clinic here in Paphos in a few minutes, I had a prostate blood test check a few weeks back at a cost of €30 and the nurse even gave me my results and also told me I was OK for now, back home in ten minutes, no long ques thankfully.

I haven't got a garden and I have been to Polis hundreds of times.

You've missed my point. It is irrelevent because they said they were making a day of it. If they weren't making a day of it then it would be relevent.

Though looking back, it was their friend who made a day of it.

They said? not missing the point at all, just my thinking of driving all the way to the Polis hospital, as I only live five minutes from Paphos General, like many we have been to Polis so many times it would not be a day out for me, I am happy to pay the blood test fee privately, this is my point Dominic, OK for you as you live half way there.

Usually, you will still need to attend the Paphos Hospital to see a specialist, with luck he/she may be there on the day.

For what its worth PSA blood test at Evangelismos hospital is just €20... They can email your results or you can collect within 2 hrs.....

Thanks Daveg,just had mine done with Paphos Deals,50 euros which was half price.This was at Olympia opposite Paps in Chloraka.
