Britain's Brexit Bill

Post by Jimgym »

Just read an article with says that British negotiators are drawing up a list of EU assets of approximately €150billion to offset the cost of leaving. Should make things very interesting in the next few months! I've often wondered why it was never mentioned that Britain must have a share of EU assets that need repaying. Looks like it's the start of tough negotiations.

The first reply to a demand from the EU for a Brexit bill is, "Can we see the external audited accounts please?"

As a net contributor to the EU (the second largest I believe), it is difficult to see how we can owe them anything...

Still, interesting negotiating points.

The EU hasn't had audited accounts for 9 years.
