Never felt very comfortable on that stretch - it is very narrow and there is no chance to pass someone coming from the opposite direction.

We only use that stretch if it is the one I am thinking of, to drive TO the Blue Lagoon. We always come back an inland route.

Not the stretch that I was thinking of which is narrow and close to the cliff... I felt safer walking...

It is the road.... on your video just after you overtook the pickup. I had myself at the same spot bad memories, when my rental Minimoke nearly overturned there...

Map from Mapcarta shows the point, called Kakoskali, mentioned in the news....

We traveled along here a couple of weeks ago in our 4x4 on our way to the blue lagoon. And like Dominic drove out the other way.
The track is very rutted and potholed at moment, no way a place to take a saloon car. There should be a sign to say no red plate cars and only 4x4 beyond this point. It’s amazing the places we have come across hire cars on off road tracks.
Sadly it has cost this couple there lives, may never find out the full story of what happened.

Having said that, somebody drove off the side of the B7 today, on the way up the hill towards Tsads. My wife drove past the police and fire brigade looking over the edge. It was near that abandoned shop which now appears to be lived in.
