Briton grapples with two burglars in Paphos

A British couple returning from an evening outing came face to face with burglars at their Paphos apartment complex at 2 am on Thursday morning.

Undaunted, the man tried to apprehend two hooded men he spotted leaving his neighbour’s apartment. He gave chase, while shouting for others to help and grappled with the burglars. They hit him as they tried to get away but fled when a Cypriot came running to help.

The Briton was taken to hospital for first aid treatment and discharged.

Police said that cash and electronic appliances had been stolen from the apartment while the search for the burglars continues.
