A/C Heating

Post by norman347 »

Morning All,
I was reading a few week ago the differing opinions about cost of using A/C to heat our homes. I had already decided to use the A/C as opposed to mobile gas heater which I have used for a few years now.
We found the house to be far warmer as the A/C warms the entire room and we where not needed to sit right in front of heater. We have also managed to keep clear of coughs or colds so far which we think is because we have been kept far warmer.
We have just received our electric bill which is € 70 more than for the same period last year. I am very happy with this as I am sure it would have cost more than €70 for gas bottles as the temps have been far lower than a normal year.
Hope this helps people who are wondering about using A/C for heating.

Cheers Norman. :D :D :D

You confirm the opinion of experts and don't forget that it is much colder this year
than usual in Dec./Jan/Feb so far....

We did the exact same thing this year as an experiment and the electric bill came in at only €50 over the same period last year. Will be sticking with AC for heating in future and, as you say, we've been a lot warmer and free from any colds etc. Bearing in mind that gas bottles are now over €12 and have to be changed so often, the AC heating is far more economical. :D
