New coffee at Lidl's: Colombian Supremo

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Since a couple of weeks they stocked a new coffee at Lidl's which I think is excellent quality and the price is much lower than Lavazza rossa, which I used to buy in the past. It says on the package: for all coffee makers, but I use it in my espresso machine and the fineness of grinding is just perfect for it.
I prepare a coffee lungo (twofold water) and with a tiny amount of tin milk it is just how I love it. Like that, the coffee is for me strong, but not bitter and very aromatic.

And we plebs drink Nescafe, which, if you use the Nescafe Classic, as sold in Cyprus, makes delicious Frappe.

We usually bring our coffee (except the Classic for Frappe) over from the UK, in the packets. We wait until a quality coffee such as Nescafe Gold Blend or Kenco is £2 per 100 grams and then buy it in bulk. If no quality coffee is on offer, we will get packets of Nescafe at Asda or Aldi on offer at around £1.75 per 100 grams or less.

This Colombian from Lidl is with 2.59 Euro/250gr even cheaper than Nescafe classic - suitable for plebs as well...
(never tried Nescafe classic in my espresso machine though)

I’ve tried it Max, it is indeed, in my opinion, as good as, if not better than Lavazza and much cheaper. I also bought the Bellarom Classico strength 8 coffee beans in Lidl, but I haven’t tried them yet. €4.99/Kilo. :D
