I’ve just read through this document and it appears to set out matters very clearly. Thank you.

3. Residence Documents as proof of residence right

The residence documents granted to UK nationals and their family members (either current documents,
which will continue to be issued until the end of the transition period or the new documents, which will
be issued after the end of the transition period) will enable them to continue their lives in Cyprus. These
documents can be used as proof of their right to live and work in Cyprus.

In this respect, these documents will also be used (with a valid passport for UK nationals and for their
family members who are not UK nationals) to travel to and from Cyprus.

Mr Blobby: 'The table at the end appears to suggest to me to live in Cyprus we need an meu1 OR an meu3 . Not that we definitely need an meu3'.

Yes, not 'mandatory' but as has been mentioned in many articles and by BHC in Nicosia on their website and at various meetings that they arranged with British Expats during the past year or so - 'recommended'.

Up to the individual, but everyone I know has either applied (and in many cases received), is in the process of applying or will apply when they reach the 5 year eligibility for MEU3 Permanent Residency.

Very straight forward and clear, should help most people. Particularly the bit about simplified application procedure for those with existing certificates.

I shall repeat the comment I made in the other thread, rather than try and fail to merge the two:

On a related note, the British High Commission is in Paphos on the 8th October, and is meeting with "Chairs and key figures in the Paphos area" to update us with Brexit information. If you have any sensible questions you would like me to raise, please reply here or send me a PM.
