Cyta outage yesterday.

Post by JimX »

Cyta went down at 3 pm yesterday for a couple of hours, I phoned to ask what has happened and they said it was due to a problem with there computers, no idea how widespread this short downtime was, but all is well now.

Thankfully, it was not everywhere as we have internet TV via Cyta, and all was OK here.
It is good to hear that you have your service back again..

It was only a couple of hours in the afternoon, not usually online or watching TV then, just so happens a family member was trying to Skype us. I have no idea though how widespread the outage was. No matter all is OK now. :D

That's strange, my next door neighbour is on Primetel whilst I am direct on Cyta, but both of our routers were down and no tv???

Wonder if it was a localised problem, I did see phone guys at the main box at Ollies.

No worries, it was fixed and not the end of the world!

I have better things to do than watch TV in the afternoon but I can say that I had no problems with my CYTA connection on the Internet.

Yes, but I think that there is more than one village with the same name...

Devil lives a long way from Paphos, as you do, I did say I had no idea what areas were affected and Cyta did not divulge that info, it was sorted within two hours or so, if you were not effected I see no reason to comment, I was just waiting for a family member to go onto Skype.

Jac's Primtel uses CYTA computers so it usually affects Cyta and Primetel (not always) if indeed it was a computer problem as Cyta said. And you are correct it is not the end of the world.

That control box in front of Ollie's pub in Tremithousa village, they have been working on that for some time, upgrades I was informed.
