Who has too much time on their hands?

Post by Devil »

Interestingly, excluding Dominic, five members of the forums have made more than 2000 posts since it started. I was slightly surprised that Happy in Cyprus was top of the league with nearly 4.5 posts per day, followed by Hudswell with almost exactly 4 posts per day. Bottom of the champions league was cyprusmax47 with a mere 3.4 posts per day. The other two were trevnhil and PaphosAL with about 3.8.

I know that someone is sure to reply that I, too, must have too much time to suss out these data, but I'm not even in the 1000+ category, an also-ran! :D :D

I cannot keep up with any of you - but I had some spare time at hand just now (weekend here, and 45 deg C outside...)

I'm 44th on the list, so down at the bottom of division 2. However, I was injured for the first month of the forums life and I refuse to make posts on Brexit.

I am perhaps the only one without any post commenting Brexit...

Thanks - feeling proud now :P

Funny (or scary?) thing is that the young engineers in my team could have done that graph in about 30 seconds whilst it took me about 2 minutes I think...

I must say I am quite embarrassed having already posted so many times in that period. I am planning to reduce unnecessary or trivial posts, even when I am sometimes itching to answer back funny comments from members. (as I am not a native English and learned the language only in Cyprus I am limited to give proper stinging answers anyhow.....)

Why embarrassed? We've all got to do something with our time.

What would be really interesting would be a similar graph for the comments section on Cyprus Mail.

Getting back on topic, I think posting can become a problem when it becomes an obsession. I used to post too often at one point on CL and realised it had become an obsession. Now I only post when I have something useful, (hopefully) to contribute.

What would be nice to know, is what has happened to posters from the past who no longer post or post infrequently.

And on the same theme... Where is Paphos Al now. He has gone missing and last time it seemed to be for health reasons. I hope he is OK
