My point is that the nutter in charge of Turkey seems bent on involving himself in the proposed pipeline. It seems prudent that if he increases his military and aggression as the pipeline project develops to deter him from making stupid decisions by matching his moves.
I agree with you.....he wants Turkey to go back to the Ottoman Empire with him as the Great Pasha, he has build him self a thousand room palace ...given himself extra powers, put his son in law as fiance minister, locks up thousands of people without trail etc etc ... he has set up bases in neighboring Arab country's etc sure he can bully little Cyprus, but soon the Americans will be drilling off Cyprus for gas, it dosnt matter if he has ten navel bases in the north, even this nutter wount be foolish enough to take on the Americans, as we speak the Americans are in Greece discussing having more bases there, as I said it will not end well for this dictator, especially as the has threaten Israel, good like with that one.

I think that there is a large American (USAF) base in Turkey which has been there for ages. Last thing we need are military agitators in the south of the island.
There are Russian forces with a keen interest in establishing themselves, resident British Forces in the SBA’s, visiting American US naval and USAF aircraft as well as the Cypriot Republican Guard.

Cyprus is one of the most militaries islands in the Med.,

Don't forget also that the French are discussing defence co-operation with Cyprus & the US are in talks with Greece to develop bases on their mainland!
