EasyJet announces new Cyprus flights from Bristol Airport

Post by trevnhil »

Budget airline easyJet has announced a new route from Bristol Airport to Cyprus starting this autumn.

The airline will fly twice a week (year round) on a Sunday & Wednesday to Larnaca from October 28th with prices currently showing from £38 one way inc taxes.

EasyJet is celebrating its 15th birthday at the Lulsgate Borrom site and now has 15 aircraft based at Bristol. Talks are underway with easyJet about further development to allow more planes to be based at the site.

Dave Lees, Bristol Airport CEO, says easyJet’s success in Bristol has been “a success for the airport too”. He added: “We work together. EasyJet have been very supportive of the future development of the airport."

How curious! I don’t think this is a new route as I have been flying Easy Jet from Paphos to Bristol and back for several years, on those very days of the week...!

It is an additional route from Bristol to Larnaca so we now have both Larnaca and Pafos as options with Easyjet.

Good news, the flts from Bristol to Paphos are always packed, so these new flts may take some of the pressure off them! But I wonder why these are starting in winter rather than the spring?

Terry
If only I could fly from Cardiff, very little flights on offer, Thomson and Thomas Cook do weekly flights in the summer and that’s it! It’s hopeless! that’s why I use Bristol and Easyjet as I usually do 4 trips a year to Paphos.

There are now direct flights from Doha to Cardiff. Really wondering whether that makes any commercial sense though...

Building on Terry’s and Suetals posts, actually we find Bristol Airport is toruous to get to if coming from north of Bristol as the connection from the M5 has to use part of this cities infamous ring road! We wish that the airport had been built at Filton which is much more accessible!

The only winter flights to Newcastle are with TUI, but the EJ flight Paphos to Bristol means you can connect a couple of hours later with the EJ flight to Newcastle. Have never done this route but gone to Manchester, stayed in a hotel overnight then train up to north east, long winded but much cheaper than TUI at the time. If we go back this winter will consider Bristol/Newcastle route. I just wish Jet2 would operate the full year from Newcastle, or that EJ would introduce flights to Paphos.
