Local water supply.

Post by JimX »

In our area Tremithousa we have had no fresh water for 12 hours or so, I guess this must now happen as water levels are very low, good heavy rain is needed and soon.

My wife looks after someone in Tremithousa and they arn’t having any water supply problems! As trevnhil suggests, check with the village council office?

Shane.

Well our complex we had NO water supply for 12 hours, it is not a water problem but as I said water conservation ( I did ask ay our municipality this morning) it is also going to hit is all sooner or later unless we get some heavy rainfall., we all have at least 500KG of water on the roof, be sparing when this does happen to you.

JIM!

You stated in your OP that "In your area Tremithousa we have had no fresh water for 12 hours" and in my response I stated that this is not the case in another part of Tremithousa so you must have had a localised problem ………………… or maybe the local council is being selective and just making your complex suffer!

Shane, Again I did contact our Mukhtar and he said it was localized water conservation, I take it he was at least knowing what you do not know, I do not care if you feel he is lying that is your choice.

Obviously, I live in the village as you may see my webcam, we had no fresh water for twelve hours or so and when I inquired this morning that was the answer he gave us all, if you do not believe me then so be it. ,

Honestly do not understand some of you, something of this nature you would not post on if it was not the case, just because your partner had water so what, we didn't, maybe she was confused that water was in the system, as it was, but not the fresh water tap, all our complex was OFF!!

I am not on this forum to tell lies or cause arguments as some seem to like doing. And on water outages your turn very soon.

Jim, what are you on? Your OP quite clearly stated that the water in Tremithousa was off for 12 hours ………………… that was not the case it was only in certain areas! If you had added one extra word and stated that "In our area in Tremithousa" then that would have solicited a different response but you didn't so don't throw your toys out the pram when people respond to your posts? Oh, and the only person who has mentioned lying so far is you actually!

12 hours is a very long time to be without water.

I heard of someone recently being without water
for 20 hours. :o

Is there a time limit for water being cut off for conservation :?

I remember in years gone by having Water Cuts in the village.. But certainly the hot and cold storage tanks should last a day or two. Fortunately we have quite a large reserve of water in more than one tank..

Some people don't like / trust the big bottles of water that stand on a Machine. But in an emergency you can buy bottled drinking water from every village shop..

I've drunk bottled water in Cyprus for about 18 years
and so far, I haven't had any ill effects or been poisoned.

We too use bottled water for drinking.. but only since 2006. We have found no problems with it.
In fact if we collect water in a glass from the 'drinking tap' in the kitchen there is sediment in it.. :-(
