2017 Computerised Tax return

Post by emgee »

Can someone help please.

I'm trying to submit my computerised 2017 tax return, Part 4 B1 Pensions and am gettiing an error message "Tax withheld field" requires 9 digits and 2 fractional digits", does this mean 11 zeros to fill the box please?

Many thanks for any help.

Regards

We have exactly the same error with 9 digits and 2 fractional but in the pension field. We were in the tax office only this morning where one of the ladies filled it in and did a temporary stored. When we got home I went on line to actually submit and got the same message! So, unless someone on the forum knows, it will be back to the tax office again! Only the 6th time!

Alan,

You have to fill in all 9 digits. If for example the actual amount is 20,000.00 Euros you enter it as 000020000 (no cents).

Update. Went back to tax office. Got ours done by someone on the second floor!. One of the "helpers"couldn't get it to work either! I suspect there are a few "teething problems" hence the extension for submittance We also found we were given the wrong forms to fill in for exemption of SDC. Now correct ones done along with supporting evidence. You are supposedly not exempt until you receive a certificate but the man who filled ours in exempted us anyway. He is not so confident about our overpaid tax getting returned anytime soon. We also applied for refund of IPT and have been quoted 1-2 years! The tax office seems much quieter now days!

October. They now have a room where you can log in whilst at the tax office and someone will come and help you. There are two computers that are logged into taxis net. You just put in your username and password and wait for the help! As you enter via the front entrance it is the corridor on the left, only a short corridor and the room is open at the end. Good luck!

Can anyone suggest an answer please?

Part 3a Cyprus Tax Resident ...did you stay in Cyprus more than 183 days in 2017. Answer YES, which I did.

Error shown. Can't solve the error.

I think I'm losing the plot.

Thanks

Alan, have you selected the box underneath showing 183 days? You have to enter both.

I did that and before I knew it, I was at the end of form, all figures balanced.

Just sent it, fingers crossed.

Thank You once again.

Urgent question. Can you attach documents as proof of paid tax overseas?
