Connection to Main Sewer

The main sewer has recently been laid in our road and our property can now be connected. I understand that connection to the sewer is mandatory once it’s available and failure to comply can result in prosecution. Can anyone please advise how long before the Sewerage Board take any action as the connection cost is quite substantial and for many people the sum involved is not immediately available. Thanks in advance for any info.

I would wait until you know that it works . I know of many people who paid to have the work done and are still waiting years later for the final connection. I suspect that once the system "works" it won't take long to stop working. Cheeky beggars at the sewage office still send us bills for something we cannot use!

We have been connected in Chloraka for 3 years now and it has always worked fine, but there are still plenty in our street still not connected so I would not rush.
