Re: Theft from your baggage

Thank you all for posting :) Can i please let you know even if you have your padlock tied to the handle or any other parts so the padlock can't move, they can still zip up your suitcase thanks to the wonders on modern technology !!! I am surprised some of you don't lock your case at all. Ok i don't want to start a scare mongering but just a thought for you to think over. I once saw a program called " Banged up Abroad " when a chap was leaving some country " cant remember what country " but had a stop over in another country before boarding his flight to the USA ! he got stopped by customs and they found drugs in his case ! yes he denied it all in court but still got a prison sentence ! at the end of the program when he got released from prison and was making this program in the USA he still denies it all saying the drugs was planted on him !! Did he bring in the drugs himself ? or was it planted on him ? who knows. Just a thought for you to think about.

My product is not just to secure your luggage in transit but has other benefits :) Once I got things in place can we advertise my product for a fee on this site ? if yes can Admin please PM us the details. Thank you

Simon, do you live in Cyprus? I just wondered why you chose this small expat forum to do your initial market research? The number of travellers from Cyprus to other destinations will be a fraction of the number of travellers whose start point is the UK.

What are you doing by way of UK market research? Have you thought about trying to get onto Dragon's Den?

But again, can these not be cut with a good pair of scissors, shears or sharp knife?

I just feel zips are now a serious no no.

Jacs, don't get het up about it.... think about it. How many trips have you taken with a zipped suitcase over time, and how many times have you had stuff knicked?

Keep your valuables with you and unless there are some serious porn merchants out there who want to root through your "undesirables" - would a few bits of clothing etc going adrift cause you serious grief? ;-)

Personally, I'd be perfectly happy for them to nick my washing after the end of my holiday...... :-D

At one point, we lived in a ground floor apartment - just off Tomb of the Kings Road. My favourite knickers EVER were nicked off my clothes airer in broad daylight!  If I'd caught the brute . . . . . . . . Well, I just don't know

You really have favourite knickers?

My life is missing something. I shall have to sit and cogitate which is my favourite pair of pants.

Takes me back to my late 20's that Maggie B when some blinder was thieving washing off the backyard lines...

I had about 40 quids worth of items stolen and the police were called out to several of the houses in 3 streets which formed together to make a triangle.

The copper who I gave my statement to raised an eyebrow when I told him the approx. cost of said items..... He soon shut up though when I put him straight by saying to him
yes, lot's of new brand new underwear there officer, but you know what it's like when you've just got yourself a new boyfriend ;-)

Umm just returned from Egypt on Tue and now everyone with a electrical device bigger than 6 inch has to go in the hold luggage ? Simon did you know something we did not know ? inside information ?. We did notice after going through 4 security checks at Hurgarda Airport some people had their phones and tablets taken away from them! yes they could have kept them but miss the flight. At check in with bags we never got asked if we had electrical equipment , power banks at all ! they should ask us so we can have a chance to put them in our hold luggage and not get them taken away from people for them to make money on re-selling !!!!!!!!. Simon i have PM you
