Can anyone advise under what circumstances product can be returned Lidl?
For example, if one has purchased an item that it is not faulty but is not considered fit for purpose, can it be returned?
Does Lidl offer a credit note, or refund?
Thanks

Re: Lidl Returns
I have had an ongoing issue with Lidl over a new Hortus gin which we spotted a few months ago. When we got it home we found we had an opened bottle bearing the exact same design, botanical elements and even the identical serve suggestions tag attached to the bottle.
The only thing different was the name... Summer Gin.
I remembered then we didn't get hold of it until late in October because we could never find it on the shelves.
The new bottle we bought was an exact copy but rebranded with Garden Gin.
I took them to task over it publicly with photos of both bottles side by side along with the serve suggestions tag.
Eventuality they offered a reply by email from customer services which said very little and didn't address my concerns. Back to them again which they responded with a request for my postal address.
Three days later, a letter plus a £5 voucher with the letter indicating to take the letter to any Lidl store for a full refund.
And, the paragraph explaining the Summer Gin bad been so popular the decision was taken to change the name to Citrus Garden Gin so it could be marketed all year round.
Something which they had omitted in each message and email they had previously replied to.
So yes, you can get a refund even by not taking anything back to the store but I guess that would be an even longer process in Cyprus!
Take it back with your receipt but good luck finding a customer services desk. Just grab a staff member and stand your ground...

Thanks for the replies.
Our first plan when we pop into Lidl tomorrow is to find a staff member not on a check-out, because we'd hate to hold up a queue while the product is being unpacked and checked. Assuming, of course, it is unpacked and checked.

No! I just had a return of a espresso machine and as I paid with the card in the first place I got a full refund at my card account, not cash.

I took a non food item back to The Tombs of the Kings Lidl, last November. I had got the wrong thing and there was nothing wrong with it and I hadn't touched the packaging. I had the receipt and I just went to the till, they called a manager over and I got a cash refund, I had paid with a debit card.

Interesting as I was in the same Lidl shop TOTK, maybe they changed their policy in the meantime.. but to give the item back at the cash point and getting refund bill was a matter of a few minutes...

It says on the Lidl terms and condition that any refund is to however you paid, as you have found out Max.cyprusmax47 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 11:28 amNo! I just had a return of a espresso machine and as I paid with the card in the first place I got a full refund at my card account, not cash.

I also believe that there is a number of days after which you have to apply to head office for a refund letter...

Re: Lidl Returns
We went and got our refund today as we needed a few bits. Spent our voucher and £15.99 refunded back to our debit card.
Not a bad return - and we still have the unopened bottle of gin

Re: Lidl Returns
Just to give some feedback - we returned the product to Lidl today around lunch-time when it wasn't so busy. We asked at one of the free check-outs how to process the return. The guy said he would put the refund on our credit card (how we originally paid) and that was it. The package wasn't opened and checked, but a manager did come over to ask why it was being returned. The reason was pretty valid. It worked but not well enough. It was a Robot Hoover. We had used it on the 20 minute cycle but when we went over the area with a dry mop afterwards, there was still quite a lot of dust that had been missed. Might be good for picking up cat and dog's hairs though.
