Viewpoint: UK will Exit EU with no deal

Not sure that I understand this logic , surely democracy prevails.

It has taken up enough of our Governments time and energy.

Not to mention an estimated billion pounds + up to now, according to the Bank of England which includes exchange losses.

Every time this appears in the 'new posts' list I feel that the heading is misleading.
It reads that it has already been decided that the UK WILL exit the EU with no deal.
That decision has not as far as I know been made..

You now believe that the EU should now bend over backwards to alleviate the almighty shambles caused by Brexit and assist the incompetents who voted for it?

No, they should just apply the same principles to the UK as they do to other countries that want to negotiate a trade deal, like Canada & Japan for example!

I am quite frankly totally sick of all the doom and gloom, which at present is pure conjecture. More subdued ? Not likely, personally I just fail to see the point of discussing a subject which we cannot, and never will agree on.

From today's Telegraph. Brussels has warned EU countries to get ready for a no-deal Brexit as Dominic Raab arrives for his first round of talks.

The European Commission is reportedly instructing the other member states to prepare for a no-deal Brexit.

It has issued a strong-worded paper which warns that failure to reach a deal would have a considerable impact on European business and citizens. The Commission is leading Brexit negotiations on the EU-27’s behalf.

So yes, as one poster said, choose your enemies with care!

While some may be sick of the doom and gloom surrounding this issue, I have to say that personally, nothing this significant has happened in my lifetime, that potentially affects me, my children and grandchildren. At this stage, we don't know what exact affects this will have, but we would be ostriches if we assumed all was going to be as good or better than before (at least for a very considerable period of time)

Our children have only ever experienced freedom of movement and cooperative effects of the EU. They don't remember queuing at Dover to have you boot searched for the extra bottles of wine.... The "Nationals" and "Others" queues at passport controls....

My children do remember having our car searched at Dover, even though we had nothing illegal, and in spite of being in the EU. So what, if more vehicles were searched, we might have less problems rather than more.

Are we all going to be like lemmings rather than ostriches over leaving the EU ?

Quite frankly, is this not to be expected! Do we not think that the EU has run countless scenarios on a no-deal Brexit, a yes-deal Brexit or countless other possibilities in between? And do we think that the UK has not being doing the same?

Nobody knows what the day after tomorrow will be until tomorrow happens & that's a fact! We might be swimming in euphoria or drowning in the mire, we just don't know & the markets will decide at the end of the day!

The Irish border won't be decided by the markets. I am actually very curious to see how that will play out.

Personally I think I would prefer a hard Brexit to May's plan, but it's rather like preferring to having a tooth extracted to a six monthly filling.
