The most beautiful & stunning stalactites and stalagmites I have seen
were in Lebanon, just out of Beirut. We had a weekend there about 15 years ago.
It's called the Jeita Grotto and it's worth a Google to see some pics.

The uniqueness is that the stalactites are in SEA CAVES, which need sweet water to form.... and it is in Paphos district...

Stump Cross Caverns in Yorkshire is quite spectacular too. The best ones I have seen in Cyprus were in the Paphos Caving blog.
