Well that shows complete disregard of the law.. a string of charges. For a start the car should not have been on the road at all. Since the man doesn’t seem to have a full driving license, presumably he hasn’t passed a driving test and should have had a licensed driver with him. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt and final horror, he had a small child on his lap.
So the car was unlicensed, untaxed and uninsured.
Can’t believe that the man was charged and then released when he has committed such a string of serious offenses!
What message does this send to others?

I would think that’s only one of many more doing the same.

The police did arrest the man. That's the whole point of the article.

But why is there no mention of a prosecution?
Yes, he was arrested, and then released ...………….. Big deal!

The arrest was as a result of a routine travel check, not a short term clampdown. Basically, the police, in this instance, are doing exactly what you want them to.

Re: Man caught driving with toddler on his lap
A couple of weeks ago I saw a man on a very big motorbike with a toddler sat in front of him, practically lying on the bike's tank. The kiddie, who was probably about 2, had a crash helmet on, that dwarfed the rest of his body, but was just wearing a t-shirt and shorts so he would have been shredded if he came off. The adult, presumably his father, should be flogged.

Or at least banned from riding a motorbike again for a long long time!

You couldn’t make it up.......
The father should be sentenced to attempted man slaughter
The government here should wake up and pass laws on these motoring offences .... there is hardly a day goes by in recent weeks of fatalities some of which could have been avoided on the plus side the Police now are doing the occasional checks instead of drinking coffee

As I see it, one major problem is that everyone in Cyprus is related in some way, or a friend of a police officer, or his family. In Britain that wouldn't make any difference, but in Cyprus sadly it does.
