Traffic cameras to cost approximately €45 million

Post by Paphos Life »

The soon-to-be installed traffic camera system is expected to cost around €45 million. According to a decision of the competent ministries, all costs will be borne by the private company which will also be handling the system and sending tickets to the offending drivers....

I wonder if they have remembered that they drive on the left in Cyprus and a system that is only suitable for driving on the right will not work after the last fiasco and waste of money

IMHO the sooner they are installed the safer we will all be !

It should make an immense difference to the Tomb of the Kings racetrack

We use the tomb of the kings road most days and have seen many accidents , many would you believe involve taxis rear ending other cars at traffic lights !!!.

I hope that speed cameras are placed at all the major road junctions, like Polis Rd with the road from the hospital roundabout, Tomb of the Kings, rightly refered to as a racetrack. Saw a 3 car shunt last Sunday afternoon when the first car realised there were pedestrians on the pedestrian crossing, stopped suddenly, (2 following cars crashed into him) and also at the roundabout at the end of the motorway..
