If it is good enough for the government buildings, why not the schools too? I would have thought that aircon in schools would be a necessity, a no-brainer.

After the latest exam results you'd hope the relevant authorities would be prepared to seriously reconsider the learning environment. Given the timing of exams, the lack of a/c has got to be a factor in performance.

There are more ways than one of 'killing the cat'. That's what the environmentally friendly measures are about. Aircon in schools if better systems fail. That's the way it should be. All modern buildings have to be assessed to ensure they are environmentally friendly with the intention of providing a pleasant working / living environment without the need for air con, (which is not environmentally friendly).
