Anybody heard of Skycop?

Or even used them.
Back in March my 21:20 easyjet flight to Manchester was cancelled due to 4 drunken women who were abusive to the staff on the outbound flight from Manchester, the pilot flew to Athens and had them removed by the police, by the time they arrived at Paphos the pilots couldn't fly back to Manchester as they would have had over done their allowed flying time.
As it was midnight we were all put up in a hotel and were given breakfast and the flight left at 2pm the next day some 17 hours later.
I tried to claim from easyjet but they fobbed me off with the excuse that the flight was cancelled due to the disruption of passengers and not caused by any mechanical or damage problems to the plane.
I have just had an advert on Facebook with a company called Skycop, who claim that they can get compensation for any delay over 3 hours or cancellation, and I am tempted to use them.
Has anybody heard of them, or know somebody who has?

Hi before you go down the route of using skycop contact the CAA there is a form you can fill out and they will investigate if you have a claim or not.
It may be that it is covered by what they call extraordinary circumstances I am not sure in which the airline would win but being a flight that you have not even boarded you may have a chance.

Thanks, I have just re read the email from Easyjet and they state that this 'As your flight delay was caused by disruptive pax, this is an extraordinary circumstance, so unfortunately you are not eligible for compensation under article 7 of EU261/2004'.

It certainly wasn't Easyjets fault.

The people who should be sued are the four drunken idiots!

Shame data protection laws woukd I expect ban5 Easyjet from telling who they were.

The flight was on a Friday and apparently they were put in jail for the weekend and let out without going to court, they should have at least been banned from flying again.

If Easyjet are quoting relevant EU laws then I'd say they are correct. I've just claimed with them for overbooked flight and they were very fast to respond, money in bank account now. They cited relevant EU law and all sorted quickly. I know these circumstances are different but it sounds like they are telling you why they won't pay out. There are companies that do it for a fee if you get compensation, might be worth checking with them. I think they tell you pretty quickly.

Exactly, thats why I did it myself, form is on easy jet website and it took 30 seconds, claim accepted the next day and money in account within a week. Very simple and fast.

DD2 applied to EJ several times for a delay she had PFO-MAN, but rejected each time.

She went to Bott & Co and EJ paid out immediately!

I did not even fill in a form for EJ for delay just telephoned and money in the bank within 3 days excellent service and no quibble.

We were due to be on a BA flight that was cancelled according to BA for weather reasons. I still put in a claim and 2 weeks later received €600.

Some strange extraordinary circumstances do crop up from time to time. Remember the Icelandic volcano which spewed volcanic dust all over Europe? That would be an extraordinary circumstance defence to a claim for flight delay compensation. Other examples are drunk or unruly passengers having to be taken off the plane or, incredibly, a bee becoming lodged in a sensor on a (yes this is right) Flybe Flight.

I guess from this that your claim would be denied but obviously you need to check.

I would suggest that it is EJ fault, they either let the passengers on drunk or allowed them to drink to excess on the flight, either way it was in the control of EJ.

According to EU regulations they are entitled to cite exceptional circumstances to avoid any payout. It's grey area, do you police every passenger to make sure they aren't drinking booze brought onboard? They are usually too busy selling scratch cards, food etc. etc. to do much else!
