There's no point having the same story twice. When I generate news items that appear on the main site, they also appear here. It's in the "Do you have a news story" item at the top of the page:
If you have a news story that is relevent to Cyprus as a whole or Paphos, then please share it here. If the link is from a known source, I will incorporate it into our main news section and delete your post to avoid having two threads.

So, is there any point in anybody posting a news story, just for
it to be deleted and re-posted by Paphos Life??

Well yes. First of all, why did you post the story? To inform other people I would guess. If it is reposted by Paphos Life, more people will know about it, so more people will be informed. Everybody using the directory, viewing the webcams or reading the blogs will also see the latest news thumbnails below them on every page. If you only ever use the forum, then you may not know of their existence. But this site is a lot more than just a forum.memory man wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 3:48 pm So, is there any point in anybody posting a news story, just for

Secondly, I normally only aim to have a maximum of four news stories a day posted by Paphos Life, and usually it is two. So there is a chance that I won't add your story to the main site anyway. In which case, it will remain in all its glory.
Thirdly, if the news story doesn't come from either Cyprus Mail or In Cyprus, then it won't get added by Paphos LIfe, as I only wrote import routines for those two sites. If the same story is on both sites I might use the Cyprus Mail or In Cyprus version. It depends on how many stories I have already posted that day.
Fourthly, it has always been this way. When the News section was added, I put the "Do you have a news story" link at the top of the page. That was in February 2017. It has been that way ever since.

Nothing has changed. It has always been this way.
