Long posts - The Brexit Splinter Thread

I don't know what Dominic thinks but I find that very long copies of info posted on various websites as rather irritating, when the link to the same text is added. Would it not be better to post a paragraph or synopsis of the text and the link, rather than what would amount to pages of text if printed but requires much scrolling? Just a thought!

For me it depends on the subject. If it’s brexit related then I usually ignore the whole thing. Something interesting then I don’t mind full paste or link. Sorry, bit on the fence here!

I don't have an aversion to Brexit posts. But when a thread becomes just about Brexit, it is political, so gets moved to the political forum.

OK, let me fess up; I know Dominic has an aversion to Brexit posts and quickly dispatches them to the political section; so after considering my original post I later deleted it, because it was not relevant to the original OP and would be considered 'off-topic'. But now that everyone has now responded to the OP, let me take issue with Jimgym in his statement above, which is this:

Over time Jimgym you have proven to be one of the most vocal pro-Brexit activists in the Political section. Time and again have you rubbished my posts in which I stated my views on what would be the eventual outcome of Brexit. Only now that you can see the whole Brexit edifice crumbling before your eyes have you suddenly 'lost interest' in Brexit-related matters.

Strange, lots of other previously vocal Brexiteers also appear to have lost their appetite for Brexit-related debate. Can't think why

How dare you make assumptions, wrongly as it happens about what I think. Your usual arrogance coming to the fore. I have never said, not will I ever say that the Brexit edifice is crumbling. I am offended that you dare to make assumptions about me and what I think. For the record Lloyd, I have stopped posting mainly because I am sick to death of your constant drip feeding of if's and maybe's, mights and might nots regarding Brexit. It is so incredibly tedious that I don't reply. That for the record is the reason I don't respond, NOT because of your wild and completely untrue assumption. I still hold that your views are wrong, and as you are so very fond of telling others, Brexit hasn't happened yet. Nothing strange Lloyd, no mystery, no loss of interest in Brexit, no changing of minds, just complete and utter boredom with the half baked opinions posted by doom mongers such as yourself. I do hope that clears things up as regards to why I'd not posted Lloyd, and next time, rather than ascribing things to me that are untrue, do me and yourself a favour and ask.

Correct, you didn't say that...I simply suggested that the realisation was dawning on you.

And it should be apparent from the warring cabinet; a Prime Minister who is in government but no longer in charge (Robert Peston, News at 10 last night), no solution to the Irish border crisis and no common agreement on the Single Market that the whole Brexit edifice is crumbling.

Anyway, I don't want to prolongue this thread on the issue of Brexit so that it gets moved into the political forum, so I'll leave it at that. Back to Long posts

Don't suggest, or presume to know what someone else is thinking, as I have said before ask them. Your straw man arguments are tedious and repetitive. I won't comment on the rest of your post, but will refer you, and anyone remotely interested to my previous comment. Now, if you need any more clarification of my views, please feel free to PM me instead of hijacking a thread.

Over many, many years I have always found Lloyds postings informative and helpful to all members, some just join forums to argue and point fingers, forums are here to help and advise other members not get involved in politics that we have no real control over, most of us live on Cyprus, many of us voted to stay in Europe who actually live here, why? well we will still be in the EU come the UK final leaving celebrations?, I hope this post is short enough.

Whilst I may not agree with HiC on some subjects, I do try to refrain from insults either inferred or actual. However I do agree that his postings are, in general, a benefit to this forum.

I cannot believe just how 'off topic' this thread has become.

Lloyd, it's a big world out there, most of us are interested in lots of other things, rather than having a fixation on Brexit.

Usually if I see it's too long, I move on to another thread. I can never see why any post has to more than ten or twelve lines, on any subject.
