Brexit to be cancelled ?
I don’t think so , but he’s giving it a go .
A French lawyer's case attacking the legality of the Brexit negotiations will receive a hearing in the General Court of the European Union on July 5.
Bordeaux lawyer Julien Fouchet has received the long-awaited confirmation that his case, on behalf of Britons in the EU including Second World War Veteran Harry Shindler from Italy, will be be heard by the court.
It will be based on his analysis that the negotiation should not be taking place because the EU referendum was arguably illegal, having excluded many of those most affected – Britons who have lived, exercising their free movement rights, for more than 15 years in other parts of the EU.
He believes if he succeeds, the result could annul the negotiation and mean a new referendum enfranchising the excluded Britons would have to be held

Oh dear, yet another article from Yahoo, what next, that other bastion of impartiality, The Guardian? Dear me, scraping the barrel now I see. Note the wording, "may" "could be" "possible" How about posting some actual facts, now I know that might seem slightly far fetched, but try it.

HiC is so desperate to prove his point, he will refer to articles from anywhere.
Re: Brexit to be cancelled ?
Kinda partisan for the right to knock the Guardian, but not expect the left to knock the Mail, Times, Telegraph, Express et al....
I think also that the Guardian has been proven to uncover an awful lot of stuff that others were refusing to touch....

While I accept Brexit is happening, what does the Queen have to do with national policies? If we rely on some hereditary, traditional, monarchy to allow us to decide our future, God help us and all who sail in us...

If the sum total of all the remainer delaying and obfuscating tactics had been that the Queen was today giving Royal Assent to a bill to CANCEL Brexit, you would suddenly be the biggest fan of the Monarchy, Jim. [Very like the remainer's nauseating love affair with that other unelected body, the House of Lords, "Parliamentary proceedure"- or worse still, the EU itself.].
Be honest with yourself for once.

HiC,
It is not the principle of Brexit that is the disaster, but the way that the government is handling it. They are playing their cards so close to their chests that not even British industry etc. know what is their intentions.
You may say that those who voted to leave the EU did not know what they were voting for, but they knew what they were voting against and they did not like what they saw.

I am, and principled, so I dont want any unelected body, whether the Lords, Queen or EU changing anything the elected or democratic bodies decide. That includes Brexit. I dont agree with it, but hey ho, its happening and I will do my bit to try to soften it, but know it wont stop.kingfisher wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 7:05 am If the sum total of all the remainer delaying and obfuscating tactics had been that the Queen was today giving Royal Assent to a bill to CANCEL Brexit, you would suddenly be the biggest fan of the Monarchy, Jim. How anyone can cap doff to Royals, Electred or Unelected officials I dont know. I never would.
Re: Brexit to be cancelled ?
As I see it the House of Lords should be disbanded. Gone are the days when Lords were masters of their serfs, they should have no more say than the common man. I particularly dislike clergy having a seat in the House of Lords, they should stick to the House of God, isn't that why they chose their careers in the first place.

Over the next few months we will find out the detail of what’s being planned.
I am expecting another vote by way of a referendum as the British people may not want what has been agreed in principle

We've had one, no need for another.

That´s like saying that you had been asked whether you´d like to have a Porsche (without mentioning the price) and going on to say you don´t want to be asked whether you still want it if the price is €1,000,000.- .

Erm, Zaknumber1- the UK is a mature democracy unlike the EUSSR Superstate. We don’t keep demanding referenda be re- held until the “correct” result is attained, like those in Ireland, Greece and Denmark.
You perhaps failed to notice my post last Tuesday, re.the granting of the Royal assent to the bill for: “Leaving the EU”. It is significant.
In a lighter vein, I gave a link to the clock which keeps Monsieur Barnier awake at night- with its ticking….

I don't want a Porsche, just Brexit.
No-one voted for Brexit without knowing that the outcome might be a bumpy ride, but to me that ride is worth it. No-one told us in the seventies what the cost of joining the EU would be, had we been told the truth then, we may never have joined in the first place. I voted against joining, I have never had cause to change my mind.
