Long posts
I don't know what Dominic thinks but I find that very long copies of info posted on various websites as rather irritating, when the link to the same text is added. Would it not be better to post a paragraph or synopsis of the text and the link, rather than what would amount to pages of text if printed but requires much scrolling? Just a thought!

Re: Long posts
I agree. It is better to post the first paragraph or two and a link. However, if somebody is posting from say, a tablet, thay might be harder than posting the entire passage.

I'm happy if there's a link rather than text. I can both decide if I want to read it and if so read it at my leisure

No that was HiC who deleted. Hudswell's is still there, unless I am mistaken?
Re: Long posts
If there is just a link with no synopsis or an ambiguous title (eg "for info") then that is just as annoying as a very long text post
BUT if the title clearly shows what the post is about then just a link is fine
IMO It's all about knowing if it's going to be something that interests you

I will split the topic and put the politics where it belongs. Bear with me...
