According to the Paphos Press, they didn't succeed. :(

Not enough people participating.

From Paphos Press...…………..

BRAVO Paphos! They may not "break" the Guinness record at "Hasapiko Dance" but they won the impressions and the hottest applause!

Hundreds of people of all ages responded to the call of the Relief Care Center Archangel Michael and the Folkloric Club "Ktima" and danced a butcher in front of the castle in Kato Paphos.

The goal of the Guinness World Record Attempt "Hasapiko Dance" for an honorary position in the Guinness Book was not achieved as the number of dancers did not exceed the 800 that was the previous record. However, the Palliative Care Center has received the love and support of the public.

In statements, Ms Theocharides Skordi, Director General of the Relief Care Center Archangel Michael, said: "We are organizing this event for charity today. All proceeds will go to the Palliative Care Center and try to break the Guinness record dancing a hammer in front of the Castro. "

At the event co-organized by the Center of Palliative Care Archangel Michael and the Folklore Group "Ktima" supported with their presence several local and foreign visitors, dancing groups from Paphos and other cities and organized ensembles.

According to Mrs. Mona Theocharidou - Skordi, the center hosts patients with incurable illnesses, either for relief care for some time and then they can go back home.

It is, he continued, "a charity, it is free for patients who provide care and it is also the only palliative care center that accepts children in Cyprus".

The effort for an honorary position in the Guinness Book Book will be resumed next September, according to the organizers.

The event was supported by the Municipality of Pafos.
