Cyprus records biggest annual drop in unemployment in EU

Unemployment in Cyprus fell to 8.6% in April, down from 9% the previous month and 11.7% in the corresponding month the previous year, the largest annual decrease in the European Union....

No, because it is down from last year's level as well.

Tourism being on the rise and hotels reopening after the winter break are different things.

I wish someone would do something with the old Paphos Mall.. And also the new building about 300 mts to the north of it that has never been used..
By the way, I see work is underway on the building for the new Alpha Mega near the New Mall..

Its great news that employment is down......tourism has been on the up and hopefully these trends will continue
Economically Cyprus is still unstable the Banks have numerous repossession on their books from hotels properties and land
the NPLs are still very much in existence
New money has arrived on the island but the day to day Cypriot is still in the same boat and many have lost their properties and are in rented accommodation ....... forcing the rents up in then “supply and demand market”
My island but I certainly don’t view it through rose tinted spectacles
