I don't anticipate using an agent!

I'm just curious as to what exactly Gwenny or any other agent does, given that we all have to get our own documents together and take them at our appointed time to immigration.

So what does the agent do??????

We used Gwenny to do all the paperwork and all the running about when our terminally ill father was wanting to gift his share of the house to my wife. I can't remember the sum we had to pay but I do remember that it was well worth it in our minds.

Well my wife used to be a bank manager, and loves paperwork, so perhaps that puts us at an advantage? She sees it as a challenge. Having said that, we haven't had to deal with anything like what Lloyd mentioned. I think I would want professional help sorting that out too.

Lloyd, I totally understand what you got Charis to do, I will be doing the same, and Trev, I wouldn't want to go through that minefield without help.
I am just at a loss to see what an agent does in the process of obtaining the MEU3, and so far nobody has supplied any evidence of what they do 🤔🤔

You do not need an agent if you can scan and print is all you need to do. Why waste money?

Some people prefer to use an agent Jim, because it takes away the stress and strain (real or imagined) and they may think it's money well worth spending for this reason. It's a personal choice. We got our MEU3 by doing it ourselves but have lived here long enough to understand, and tolerate, the bureaucracy.

For information they DID keep all our original bank account statements and utility bills, and only accepted copies of certain certificates, including title deeds.

Allesley - I've never said that I was going to use an agent! As usual you presumed. Neither did I ask your advice. I was simply curious as to exactly what the agents do. Thanks to HIC I now have an answer.
So feel free to stop posting on this thread.

Smudge by posting on this open forum you should expect replies, if you do not wish for members including me to give their opinions then do not ask. Simple as that, I care nothing if anyone needs to do this with an agent, I just think they are silly doing this as it is not needed, and again all my real documents were returned to us, only the copies were sent to Nicosia, MEU3 is on the way, done and dusted.

And yes Trev here I am posting on this topic, definitely for the last time. back to my headbanging on the Immigration wall :)

Jim, can you let us know when you actually receive your MEU3? Some members would appreciate knowing the time it currently takes.

Thanks

There is a role for an agent like Gwenny when the application is not straight forward as my personal experience bears out! My MEU1 application was very complicated & required a lot more detailed documentation than was listed on the immigration form. Without the knowledge & experience of Gwenny who told me in advance what to bring, I would probably still be waiting for it to be issued now! I have no reason to believe that my application for the MEU3 will be any easier so will be using Gwenny again!

Yes Allesley, by posting on this forum I do expect people to answer me. The problem with you, as usual, is that you were not answering the question I asked.

So don't rant at me about head banging, just look in the mirror and rant at the person who answered the wrong question, and went on answering the wrong question even though no one was asking for the information he insisted on repeatedly giving.

And Shane, I appreciate that there is a role for people like Gwenny, which is precisely why I was asking the question!

The MEU1 application isn´t always straightforward as I learned from my mother´s case. Immigration wanted a confirmation about health insurance on a form which her health insurance didn´t want to issue. Took some time and a lot of phone calls/emails to figure out which form was acceptable in the end. She was at the brink of taking out Cypriot health insurance on top of what she already had just to satisfy the immigration office.

When I applied to live in Cyprus I received the approval of The Council of Ministers. Surely that is sufficient, yes?
