The net is closing on IPTV - although I am sure HiC wont agree.

IPTV systems are here to stay. You can, with a subscription, stream ITV throughout Europe now.

Its the pirated systems which have limited shelf life ie Kodi, some Mag box subscription providers.

France has been using IPTV for decades. I recall having a set up when we visited La Rochelle 12 years ago. Completely legal.

Kodi and the Android box itself is not illegal .
Kodi is a platform that allows certain apks and addons to be loaded and provide access to certain streams or sites.. The illegal part is those who provide the 3 rd party addons which allow Joe Public to watch the latest films, sports etc without subscription to the provider ie Sky Sport and its other channels.

This is exactly the same thread that appeared a couple of months ago. Nearly word for word. Same words for. Same words against.

Certainly, for those using Mags, and they outnumber all of the rest, and why not they are a great IPTV platform, certainly the best most of us have used in recent years, if your willing to pay for a good service that needs no downloading and fiddling about with then it has to be a Mag type system, long may they rule, If you do not want to be that man or woman, then perhaps just live and let live, you will not be changing anyone's minds that is for sure. :D

Lloyd why bother

Yes, I agree, why bother? It's blatant hypocrisy and let's face it, you aren't going to defenestrate your mag box on the strength of it.

Defenestration is the act of throwing someone or something out of a window . :o

It is, isn't it? I first came across it in a Robert Rankin book. Hugo Rune was giving advice on how to deal with small screws that are left behind after repairing electrical appliances. They had to be defenestrated.

I think back 3 or 4 years, Jim, to the CL days, when some of us were telling you about IPTV and MAG boxes and you said they'd never work as the Internet was too poor in Cyprus and they's never compete with the Sky dishes :D

It shows one should never predict technology changes

Yes, we ALL make them I believe Jim, that Internet stood the pressure I was sure would fold, I was wrong, but then again Sky was going strong, I still miss Sky via a dish but thank goodness for the IPTV systems most of us now use, and a big thanks to Lloyd who actually recommended them to me along with the SS man, not sure just how long ago that was Jim.

I can't remember quite how long ago it was. I was on Sky with an ever-increasing size of dish, updated centre-electronics, then even a panel to boost reception.... To no eventual avail. I then went iPod touch and Apple TV, then Apple TV with the Kodi predecessors ( I think I was the first on those) then the MAG box came along and I think Lloyd was first and I took his recommendation.... I was initially with NTV then SS...

The lengths I had to go to to provide TV was incredible, with Internet wirelessly provided by Holitec.... before Cyta's offering became too compelling.

IPTV as a technology is here to stay. One day, Apple, Google or someone else will provide a legal and comprehensive service. I think if Steve Jobs had survived it would be here today, with his connections and largest shareholding of Disney and his powers of persuasion.

That last comment Jim, we can only hope that it's here to stay no matter what some are predicting. :geek:

Yes me!

They would only rip us off as Sky did, too expensive, no doubt any streaming service "paid for IPTV" would also be over the top cost wise.

I would class Sky as criminal in the way they keep putting up their prices

Oh dear....so rather than subscribe to a legal service you would rather continue funding criminals....explains a lot..

Oh dear, Hudswell what does it explain, fail to see what you are on about and your stupid comments.

What on earth do you think you are using a legal system?, no your not, why don't you just enjoy what you do have and leave the rest to those who like to be entertained.

There are no truly legal IPTV services, do not think because you use a VPN or just use your computer, all are the same. I am happy to pay for a good service provider, this I do and have no problems doing this, I used Sky for over ten years here on Cyprus and many more years in the UK, paying a huge amount of cash to them each month, I haven't forgotten how they ripped us off doing so, but again I was happy just to see UK TV.

So I and thousands of others just like yourself WE are all criminals, get a life. Buy a detection van

Austin he can't, he just loves to moan about something he actually uses. Honestly, all has been said about using Mags and the like, what is the point of this, he is daft and we are all illegal, so be it.

Actually, you are the one who wouldn't pay for a subscription, as you say yourself, and isn't your IPTV box just as illegal, but who really cares?

Enough of this nonsense.

Going on about it on here ad nauseam is nonsensical, therefore it is nonsense.

Or to put it another way, go tell somebody who cares.
