Found my favorite Sausages at Lidl today. It is from a famous Nuremberg producer
and it is first time delivered to Cyprus. I bought the same ones when I lived in Italy
and shopping in Lidl there.
You can prepare them of course on open fire (original) but they are also nice to
cook them in a very hot pan without any fat brownish and finish them with a dash of beer
I lived in Tignale high up Lake Garda, down at the lake is Gargnano.
I own a 300 years old "Rustico" there.
To drive from there to Lidl was app 25 km which meant in Winter 25 minutes drive,in Summer 1-3 hours...!!!

You are right, you can beat them with their delicious food and don't forget red wine,
in Cyprus they have no idea. Concerning coffee it was my first thing in the morning to meet
locals in the taverna 6am for a ristretto and 2 hours later a nice cappuccino with a brioche....
Now I am happy enough to get the pocket coffee pralines (again Lidl) which I used to buy when
I was desperate for a nice espresso...
Oh, I did not want to be a alcoholic but with my ristretto I had sometimes a shot alongside (Grappa) in Winter but that
is NOT like Zivania which I use only to start the barbecue...
Where did you live in Germany?
Heated a minute amount of oil in a frying pan to a high heat, added the sausages. When brown added a generous splash of Franziskaner Weissbier, put lid on frying pan and left for 5 minutes.
Very tasty with Hengstenberg Rotisseur mustard and, of course, the beer!
Delicious, I had this when I was in Nuremberg on business many years ago. I say this because the client knew exactly where to go for good sausage! (I can remember not being so keen on Sauerkraut!) Yum! I must buy some but I can't get to Lidl today so does anyone know if this is a 'Saturday special' or do you think it will be a regular thing and still be on sale next week?
Can you remember the place you went in Nuremberg for the sausages?
Best place was near the large church in the historic center, old farm house style
from the mountains, with open fire near entrance...very good with potato salad and horse radish!!
I asked today manager in Lidl TOK and it supposed to be stocked in future if it sells well
Bratties, Kartoffelsalat und Senf...ummmm, the mrs went to our local Lidl this afternoon and got the last 5 packs they had. These are just baby brattier though and there are 14 to the pack so just enough for a man snack at lunchtime.
The only way to eat Bratwurst is to grill them and cover them with schaslick sauce! If you can't find schaslick sauce then try tomato ketchup with mild curry powder sprinkled over. In the U.K. You get the normal size 5 to a packet from Lidl or Aldi. Best sausages in the world.
The post is about the AUTHENTIC Nuremberg sausage which you would kill
if you put any sauce on it. To grill them on beach wood fire and eat them
either with sauerkraut or potato salad and horse radish is the best way....
