Not really a case of the best place to buy, most building merchants sell them, you will have to maybe go and see their price, do remember they are very heavy and will need to be delivered usually by a truck with a crane.

UK garden centres do similar (and much lighter) in terracotta coloured plastic in various sizes. But they don't look very genuine, and tend to split during their first winter or two outside.

This has been discussed a few years ago and I still remember the high prices that were mentioned back then indeed ... :(

I dont think they are produced any more, they where used to store olive oil etc, so the ones you see for sell now are antique, hence the high price.

We bought one about 24 years ago in the village of Dora. Indeed they were expensive. The year they were made is very often engraved. We also bought one in Geroskipou at the same time. Also nice to see how they were transported and moved towards the designated place in the garden.

Theres a village Eastside, under Stavrovouni monastery called Kornos, I think back in the day it was the center for clay pottery in Cyprus, because of the earth around the village. there are many places who have a big collection, if anyone is interested in buying.
