Applying for UK State Pension
Re: Applying for UK State Pension
It's a sweaty time, as it is so easy to screw up. Today has been equally traumatic as I arranged to have my teacher's pension paid directly into my Hellenic Bank account. It was such a convoluted process, as the Teachers' Pension website is a nightmare. Normally my pension was paid into my UK account overnight but at 11.30 this morning nothing had been received. A phone call to the UK and they said it can be paid to overseas account at any time during the working day. One o'clock this afternoon and all was well, and so we went out for lunch to celebrate.

Good luck to you. It's going to be strange to be a proper "pensioner".
Re: Applying for UK State Pension
I received my letter today confirming I will be getting my state pension ....who said expect delays ?
I just have to wait now to hear from my company pension to see if the COPE amount is as DWP estimated .

Re: Applying for UK State Pension
To draw a line under this thread, I received my State Pension into our Cypriot bank on Tuesday. That is exactly four weeks to the day after my birthday. Good rate of exchange and I was pleased that my form-filling was worth it in the end.
Re: Applying for UK State Pension
When you get your state pension notification it will give you a breakdown of the various sections showing how the DWP arrives at the weekly figure. However, in future letters notifying you of the annual increase each April it will just give the new total. I have just phoned the number on the letter as one section will cease in a couple of years time and wanted the up to date figure for that section. Very helpful and informative conversation and about 10 minutes later had another call with more details.
