Have always been surprised in Cyprus there is little respect shown to church premises. Our municipality clears the area surrounding the churches only for them to become littered within a matter of days. At some times of the day used as an outside drinking area, or football pitch! Unfortunately at holiday times it becomes noticeably worse, but it is not limited to the younger generation throughout the year.

Maybe those that 'desecrate' cemeteries should be buried in them!
