They're goldfinches, one of the loveliest birds I think.

Definitely Goldfinches [ European ] we used to get a lot of them in our garden back in Scotland.

It's another Goldfinch Max. The 2nd photo shows an adult bird in fresh plumage, the 1st photo looks to be a worn version of it but it could just be in a distressed state, when was the 1st photo taken?

The first photo was from May 16, just 2 weeks after the rescue. The second photo was from yesterday. Regarding the singing: It is very different
to the link you have kindly sent, copying a lot of other bird songs... I love it. It is more like this record but not exactly:

That's another one of their songs, usually sung from high up in the tree tops!
