Kato Paphos in Springtime
Kato Paphos in Springtime
We have visitors at the moment, so have been showing them the sights. In between times I have taken the occasional photo, which put together paints a nice picture of Kato Paphos in the Springtime. It is busy getting ready for the forthcoming season, but still manages to maintain it's beauty...

Re: Kato Paphos in Springtime
Thankyou so much for this blog, Dominic! It helped me make up for my rather disappointing holiday in Paphos during the last two weeks of February...
I was so looking forward to a a daily stroll along the coastal footpath from the Imperial Beach Hotel to the Phateon Beach and back every other day. Then from the Imperial Beach to the Lighthouse (via the harbour) and back on alternate days. Also a one-off long stroll around the Fabricas Hill site...
Sadly, none of these hopes and aspirations materialized. Apart from inhaling lungfuls of nasty atmospheric dust on my first short walk on Friday morning, 16 Feb, I arrived in Paphos with a new ailment, Water Retention. My knees, thighs, abdomen (and the unmentionables) were all swollen up BIG time, adding 10kg to my body weight, and making walking very slow and uncomfortable...
Add the four days of being totally hotel-bound due to the sickness and diarrea bug, I felt like I was in the right place, but at the wrong time.
All I got to see of Fabricas Hill were fleeting glimpses from the 610 bus from the harbour up to market and back. It was clear to me that it is definately a walkway taking shape and NOT a monorail system. An updated photo of it from someone would be nice to see...

It hasn't changed from the pictures I posted previously Al.
Here's a newer picture of it though.

Oh Al. So sorry to hear about your holiday. It's just crap when you SO look forward to something and it all goes awry.
Please don't let it put you off and I hope you are recovering from your ailments/water retention.

Re: Kato Paphos in Springtime
Tanks, I'm out in a few weeks and I think a stroll along that side (or hire electric tricycles) would be worthwhile... being going to Paphos for over 10 years and only ever drove past the hotels there....
