Paint and tiles

Post by monnydite »

Can anyone recommend the best 'value for money' place in Paphos to get paint and also where to get the 'best value for money' wall tiles please!! Coming out on Wednesday for a couple of weeks to do some updating as trying to sell the house. Thanks for any replies.

Why is paint so expensive on Cyprus? even their own brands are over the top price wise. Not a happy painter. :)

I have been all over for tiles and the best priced ones are at Rialis, just over the lights from Lidl on the Mesogi ave. The building is an odd shape, black and orange colour, just before Steptoe furniture. Look for the discounted ones!

Rialis is in the Paphos Life Directory:

https://www.paphoslife.com/directory/en ... is?cat=DIY

Nikonikkos is in the Paphos Life Directory:

https://www.paphoslife.com/directory/entry/nikonikkos

For other DIY places, look in the directory:

I will add entries to the directory as they get recommended, but please don't link to other business directories. They never link to us. :)

Be careful not to buy the cheap brands that are on offer as they don't cover very well and you will end up putting 3 or 4 coats on to achieve a decent finish. The paint in nikonikkos is called crotex, spelt xrwtex in Greek. Speak to the guys in there and they will advise you as to the most suitable paint for your application

Nikkonicos every time for us. We have used the Greek paint on our villa and it has lasted much better than other people who used Dulux, Crown and that very expensive brand that One Stop sell. We also got a fence paint for our pergola and boundary fence, reccommended by the guy there and it too has been brilliant.

Lloyd, I'll post the make of the woodstain when we return next Thursday. It has done an excellent job. Next doors fence was painted at the same time as ours and the difference is very noticeable.

Forgot we have to paint/stain and replace some struts on the Pergola. Would Chrolex (obviously dark brown) be the best to use on the Pergola?
Have to say this information is invaluable to us... thank you so much everyone.

I'll let you know on Friday what we used. Nikkonicas recommended it for the Pergola and we used it on our smooth timber fence. On the rough timber fence we used the fence paint that Lidl periodically sell.
