Who else suffers from a bad back?
Re: Who else suffers from a bad back?
So if it is a blood thinner and you are already taking Aspirin to thin your blood for a heart complaint, that could be problematical..

Best to ask a doctor Trevor. I take aspirin but my GP is happy for me to take turmeric. I think it specifically mentions Warfarin in the cons.

I am really delighted for you over your improvement HiC. It does sound quite remarkable. Thank you for posting about those turmeric tablets as well, I think I may try those after my current batch has run out. It is always good to know of a company that posts to Cyprus as well.

Brilliant, you have received the same amount of pain relief as myself, truly remarkable. I still cannot believe that after years of having to take strong painkillers, just to get around, I no longer need them. I still have a stiff back, but totally pain free.

Just a converse view and not wishing to rain on any parades.
Given that you were in severe pain previously Lloyd and thinking of the possibility of an op, is the Turmeric not just hiding the problem?? I can appreciate the sheer relief of being pain free, but what about the underlying cause?
I have a chronic spine condition and many many years ago I saw an eminent spine specialist in Hull, Koran Kapinski, who told me to never disregard pain, it's there for a reason, and for the very same reason to be careful with painkillers, they can often tempt us to do more than the underlying condition 'permits'. I've always heeded his words and happily am not yet in the wheelchair he felt woul be the eventual outcome when I asked him for the long term prognosis, long may that continue!
Wish all you pain sufferers well and relief from the pain with no damage.

Re: Who else suffers from a bad back?
I think it all comes down to what the pill is doing. A pill that blocks pain should, I believe, be used with the caution Smudger highlights. After all, that pain is there for a reason. However, a pill that stops the cause of the pain, can be used more freely. It isn't hiding anything. I suppose you could argue that you need to address the cause of the inflammation in the first place, but in my experience of the Health Service, that is never going to happen. If I was in HiCs shoes, I would be gobbling up that Turmeric. In fact, I wonder if it would help my sore arm...

Do you think these mattresses are ok for slatted beds or do they need a divan?

The condition which causes my back pain cannot be remedied. Osteoarthritis is incurable, so the next best thing for me is pain relief. I have taken cocktails of pain killers, at one time I was taking Tramadol, Voltarol, and Gabapentin together. When I moved to Cyprus, the need for such extreme measures for pain relief abated somewhat, but now I'm back in the damp cold, the pain has increased to it's old level. Taking Tramadol was ok as long as I didn't need to drive, but now MOH is unable to drive, I have had to be careful, only taking Co-Codamol which quite frankly were hardly effective at all. Now at last I no longer need those drugs, like Lloyd, I feel so much better in myself, not only pain free all the time, but also I know I'm not under the influence of opiates.

I'm truly happy that so many of you are now free from pain. Given that my own condition is incurable without a life-inhibiting operation then I intend to give the Turmeric and Circumen a try, nothing to lose. Just keep your eyes on the root cause of your pain and treat accordingly.

1st Lloyd, secondly AR (Austin 7) and finally Jackie . . . . . . . . . Thank you so much for your contributions to this topic.. . . . . . . . . . . . . .And a few others. X
Him Indoors and I bought an amazing mattress a couple of years ago and we just could not believe the difference it made to our aches and pains - never mind the quality of sleep.
However, I have suffered from a shoulder injury sustained around 25 years ago. It is now at the stage of something like a 'nagging toothache,' always there but not excruciating.
I have had lots of physiotherapy both in Scotland and Cyprus which definitely helped . . . . . a wee bit . . . .for a while . . . . . But, I am now the proud owner of some of Jackies recommended 'Cheeky' Turmeric tablets.
I trust you lot.
D'ya reckon I need a shrink??? X

Good luck, I do hope it works for you, please let us know the results. I stopped pain killers the day I started taking Turmeric, and never looked back.
Cheeky you ? nah

Re: Who else suffers from a bad back?
When I first lie down on our bed (with mattress topper) at night, the cushioning feels wonderful initially. I get achy as the night goes on and I would assume it's because the topper prevents my spine from being straight, putting a strain on parts that shouldn't be strained. I'd suggest not getting one, invest in a new firm mattress if yours is more than 10 years old. Check this mattress-topper rank article and I'm sure that someone who suffers from back pain could find something suitable.
