One would assume that you have made inquiries about the missing post. What did the postal service say ?

Incoming parcels/Packages are often opened by customs and resealed. This is done in most Countries, incl the UK and USA.

Its a common practice to open packages to inspect them, have you been to the post office to ask about your missing post?

Your dashcam may have been blocked by RM at Heathrow. All our issues with mail have happened before items arrive in Cyprus.

My major issue with non arrival of mail was When a UK chequebook despite being sent rec and tracked delivery went missing. Of course neither the Post Offce (UK) or the Cyprus Post would accept any responsibilityfor this despite all my attempts to find out where it was . About 6-8 mnths later a report in the Cyprus Mail told of a postal worker at Larnaca airport who had been arrested following the discovery of over 200 mail bags at his home, +3 in his car.. A few months later at his trial, he was found to be guilty. The Cyprus Mail told us that when all the mailbags were emptied and checked, any identifiable items would be delivered to the addressee. Sure enough, about a month later in my mailbox was a UK bank envelope containing my missing chequebook. Too late now since I had had to cancel it with my bank.
Since then, if there is anything very important, I pay extra and use a courier service which is reliable, quicker though much more expensive...

I also live in Emba, have my post delivered to my house, and have had no problems receiving post from within Cyprus and from the UK. Do you have it delivered to your house or a PO box?

Even within the EU? I doubt it.

I always use Amazon De! not the UK Amazon, it usually arrives in three days providing you pay for the faster service and delivered to your door by UPS not DHL! you have to pick up DHL deliveries yourself, why, no idea because they are paid to do so, use Amazon DE. (I know I am repeating Lloyd's post.)

Personally have had no real problems with Pafos postal service, the odd late posting but nothing serious, if it is an important document then maybe pay for a Registered delivery.

Last Thursday I sent for that TV sound system from Germany, it will be here tomorrow (Mon) as the tracking is telling me, the item arrived in Larnaca on Friday less than 24 hours after ordering it, and is out to be delivered by UPS, great service even if you have to pay a little extra.

Dashcams, never had a delivery problem, I have had several of them, sent for one last Christmas via Pafos postal service it arrived from Amazon UK withing designated postal time, the package had not been opened.

I have no complaints about the postal service and, to my knowledge, have never lost any mail. Sometimes takes days longer than expected but it gets here.

What I find really odd is that a couple of times I have had a tracked package from Germany and the tracking shows that it takes 10 days to get from Frankfurt airport to Larnaca!! Don't know whether they are waiting for a cheap flight or that it just sits in a pile waiting to be scanned. Once at Larnaca it usually only takes two days to reach me.

Before ordering from Amazon DE check the price against Amazon UK as I have on a number of occasions found DE to be considerably more expensive (and I know you have to allow for exchange rate differences).

I always check on Amazon UK but after many years of using Amazon de never found any of my purchases more expensive than the UK, yes do check, but again never had an item more expensive, and the shipping charge is sometimes cheaper on A,De. I usually buy now from Germany.

For those who have never used Amazon de, you have the option to pay in UK sterling or Euros, also there is a translate button at the top of every page.

If you view in Chrome Jim, the translation to English is much better. From memory, the translate function on Amazon.de does not extend to many parts of the page, including the specification and reviews; but if you use the Translate function at the top of the page in Chrome, almost all the page gets translated.

I do use Chrome Lloyd. the only problem as you say is, I also like to review what other buyers think of any item, the translator on the pages of "Amazon de" does not translate the buyer's comments, so I usually go to Amazon UK for this information. :)

There is actually Amazon.de in English, so you don't need to translate anything.

Yep Trev there is, also if you need to look in the UK Amazon for the reviewer's reviews, they are in German even on your link, try it, cheers.

We never had any postal issues during our years in Cyprus for sending or receiving except for one item which went totally astray and never to be seen again, posted from Limassol to Paphos. Post from Limassol to Paphos often took up to 2 weeks before it was received.
After the package did a disappearing trick this particular customer used to tell us to take his further orders to the antiques shop just around the corner from where we lived and he came and collected it when he was driving through to Limassol tourist area.

The opposite way around though - this just sent in the last few days from Nicosia to us in UK via the UK Customs check and using a signed for service:

Several of my colleagues in the Limassol tourist areas used to get their packages sent to them at work as it took extra days for the slip to be put into their post box to notify them and in some of the outer villages, the postie used to put everyone's post in just one post box and let the locals sort it out between themselves!
