Also last Easter, swimming teams from Germany using the heated outdoor facilities at Geroskipou. I'll be coming over for my end of winter cycle training in 3 weeks. Went out on my bike yesterday. 33 miles from Penrhyn Bay to Zipworld, near Bethesda and then down to Bangor Pier and it was quite cold. 4c and even colder today.

Re: Paphos as a Sporting Destination
I would say it has been the last three or four years that there has been an influx of cyclists doing winter training. They often use the new airport road outside the heated swimming pool at Geroskipou for training. i would imagine they are doing triathlon training. Also there is a big road race around Easter time.
Fifteen years ago you hardly saw anyone on a bike, now it is a common sight. Also the number of people who are exercising has increased dramatically in Cyprus. The coast path is very busy with runners, joggers, serious walkers and people out for a stroll. My exercise 15 years ago would have been lifting a Carlsberg or Keo.

There was a Lebanese guy (quite a number of years ago) in Limassol who used to organise football training holidays for schools. He passed away some years back though....
