There is another thread about this programme now dropped to page two. I wasn't impressed. I have now seen two of them but I shall be interested to see the one on Cyprus.

I do not think if they decide to move to Cyprus for winter they will be in shorts and T-shirts, why do they not tell them the truth? we do get good days thankfully but like today wet and cool too, nights are cold, as for wanting a pool, crazy as they will not be venturing into one. :D I will be watching though.

LaLa land comes to mind........totally ridiculous
The rentals were very high especially the village location someone taking the total proverbial
The Tala property was nice.......no wonder they withdrew at the thought of 4 cats scratching their leather settees to shreads
They didn’t find a suitable property to rent......what a surprise.......

Where on the earth do they find the people to go on these shows? La La Land. I have never seen any advertising. At least this pair were not going to risk renting out their home to find their stay.

Our Tomcat was purring voiciferously at the thought of 4 new ladies from England coming onto his territory, the Stadium in Pegeia. Fences....what fences.

Totally bizarre programme. Sorry feline friends, but I was totally fed up with hearing about their four cats, which clearly rule their lives. The ladies’ delusions about Cyprus (which the agent naturally did nothing to dispel) would soon hit home if they did actually move over for winter. Did anyone actually ask the property owners how they felt about four cats living in their houses? And why was the agent driving a red-plate? Having said they’d like to live in a fishing village, they were taken to Peyia, Pano Paphos, Tala, and some other place even further inland. I suppose I might put up with the four cats living next door to me ... as long as they left the two women at home! 😀

For us, this programme did not truly reflect what properties are available in the Paphos area.. . . . . even 5 years on. 😣

I suppose, its fine knowing what you know.

We have ALL started off somewhere . . . . . . . . .with 'Ideal' thoughts in our heads.

On one of the Paphos FB groups at least two of the posters have actually met Dee and Celia and yes, they did bring their cats, using netting to 'fence in' the verandah area.

They are not staying in any of the areas they visited on the programme. The cats are prize winning show cats.

Thanks for your posts on this. From what you say, plus the comments on FB, they DID winter here, but at another location, I wonder where.
I noticed the Agent quoted all rents in £, I wonder why she didn't quote in €?
Her Dad's restaurant looked rather nice.

Not difficult to work that one out. The programme is aimed at British TV viewers and all overseas property programmes are always showing prices in pounds. It makes no sense to quote in dollars for a Florida holiday home, likewise in euros for Cyprus home, it wouldn't mean a thing to most British viewers.
I take your point, in which case it might have been useful to quote the exchange rate used at the time.

We watched it this morning and caught a glimpse of Mario's in TALA , which reminded us we had not been in for a few weeks .

So it was off there for lunch today , good timing Wednesday is the day for Lasagna , it was delicious .

A friend living in the UK who hasn’t as yet been to Paphos was most interested to see what it looks like. It’s easy for those of us living here to be very critical of this programme. But don’t forget that the programme isn’t aimed at those fortunate enough to already live somewhere in the Med! It’s aimed at people who are in the UK fed up with of the winter cold and gloom there!
If you look at it that way, then it is probably fun for those in the UK, some of whom are probably thinking could we do ths too?

I think that agent saw them coming then rubbed her hands together with glee. Typical, no consideration given to their requirements....

I think the TV company pay the agents to at least try and make an interesting tv show, but let's be honest this was a no hope from the start, four pet cats and all, it was just never going to happen.

Morning Dee, if your friend wants to see what Pafos looks like tell her to look at Utube, hundreds of street shot too.

here is just one link.
