It May have only been 'one local service provider' that went off the air..
If so then at least two distributors were affected and all their customers.

For goodness sake, Hudswell, when will you admit your “free view” is nothing of the sort. It is ILLEGAL for anyone to stream BBC channels outside the UK....

I admit that due to the nature of what I pay for, it is almost inevitable that some of the cash goes to less than honest sources. I dont like that overall, but I’m left unable to use an alternative, as that doesn’t exist.... if it did, as I said on here, I would pay extra for an honest provision.

So, I admit I’m two-faced about some thyings like this.

Trev yes that's true but they used the same main provider, thankfully running again as you will know.

Hudswell "can you see the difference" when are you going to also realise you are also using an illegal system, and good luck to you too. I certainly admit that I do, but we had no choice as you didn't if you wished to have good UKTV, as the local stuff is dire. We did not cause this problem the UKTV people did, Spain, Italy also uses Mags and Androids, no doubt your cruise ship will have an illegal system, mention this at the ships bar, see you on Utube :) perhaps a few weeks on that cruise will make you a happier man, I do hope so, and again live and let live.

You keep saying that I am immoral, I always paid my taxes here and the UK, I had no choice PAYE, did this all my working life no freebies for me, paid my Sky subs here and in the UK for 25 years or more, here it was extortionate, Sky was taking €75 a month from me, I live on a small pension, certainly cannot afford a Cruise holiday so decent TV is a must for me and the wife.

Again very happy to pay legally for UKTV, as you keep pontificating about, if indeed we could, just like your good self no doubt.

When are you all going to realise that none of you are going to convince the other side that you are right and they are wrong? :)

Hudswell, you freebie viewing will be boosting the traffic stats for the illegal sites. This will make them more attractive to advertisers. So you are assisting the criminals too. You just aren't being honest about it.

In other words Hudswell was right all along .
There IS an alternative - don't buy ANY such "illegally provided UK TV service".
I cannot help feeling this thread has lost its way and is now just a slanging off match.

I shall move this thread to the pit soon. The problem the OP was on about never materialised. The argument can continue there.

Then perhaps, it will stay away from future IPTV threads.

At least he is not calling you immoral Lloyd, it was only the one service provider who went down, several other secondary providers lost the service for a couple of weeks, now back and running as you know, now why would anyone ask at the Primtel office if Cyta could block streaming TV? very strange I feel.

I have been informed the reason for the downtime and police action was to do with the server streaming local Greek TV, Nova? this was removed and I think local Bobbies care nothing for what ex-pats are watching, and this includes Android of course. So Hudswell will be safe too. :D

This morning our IPTV supplier from Switzerland has a message on screen saying that withing the next 48 hours, a major IPTV supplier is set to close / go down. They do then say if you have a friend who is affected they can sign up with them... :-)

I am just passing on a warning, and for once I hope I am wrong..

The reason the Swiss company is blocked from here is because they posted reams and reams of spam, and other less savoury things. Please don't mention them again. They are blocked for a reason.

There is a considerable amount of chat on Facebook about a well-known supplier pulling the plug on their service and no doubt leaving their thousands of customers in the lurch. Apparently, according to my source, they had 700 resellers, which gives an indication of their customer base. I suspect that it is not allowed to name the service on the forum (understandably so) but if you take a pack of playing cards, the service is known by the card which is more valuable than a King.

Dominic, if I have breached the forum rules, please feel free to delete this post.

Don't worry Trev, I wasn't having a go. I just thought I should say something. If I delete the comments, they will only appear again from somebody else. This way people will be able to read them.

Anyone have any idea if ACE is the source for any of the TV suppliers in Cyprus? Friends in Mandria panicking as they're subscribing to a system where they paid an annual fee up front and were affected earlier in the year for a few weeks.
