I am adjusting this. A screw had fallen out causing it to sag.

Whoa!
Better...
Well that was exciting, wasn't it? I also tightened up my piano stool with the new set of Alum keys I bought from Super Home Store. I bought them as they had a teeny tiny key suitable for the webcam, but the biggest one works for the piano stool, so I am on a roll.

Re: The Polemi Webcam
I've got a set of what I thought were called Allen Keys, or have I been calling them the wrong thing? Or are Alum keys something completely different? I'm curious

Re: The Polemi Webcam
Allen keys.
Usual micky mouse power lines I see in your neck of the woods Dominic.
Ours was like that until we upgraded to a 3-Phase supply and they (EAC) tidied them all up.
Amos.
Re: The Polemi Webcam
Alum keys are the same thing as Allen keys, I think Allen is the correct way but I did a google on Alum and got lots of pictures of Allen keys.
Hope that makes sense.

Re: The Polemi Webcam
For sure, they are Allen Keys, hexaganol, in metric and imperial sizes. But then they also come in two different varieties: Plain and Security...
The security variety have a male pin in the centre of the female hexaganol screw, meaning it needs a special security bit to fit it. A female hole in the centre of the bit...
Engineering and Electrics are quite sexy when you think about them, with all these male / female terminologies, LOL!

Like when you try to buy castors for units, they looked at me gone out when I asked for these in the Home Centre, advice if you need these at any time they just call them wheels, not castors, "
" why did I not know that.

How did you know they weren't Alan Keys? Or even Alan Quays?Happy in Cyprus wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:38 am
Probably to reach out to people who can't spell![]()
I've only ever known them as Allen Keys, though on Amazon they are also known as Hex Keys, which makes sense.

"Alum" is a word I have heard a lot more frequently than "Allen". Possibly this is due to my background in science.
